Weather and cancellation policy.
At De Feys Equi Health & Wellness, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our clients, horses, and staff. Our policies are designed to ensure smooth communication, mutual respect, and the best possible experience for everyone involved.
🌦️ Weather-Related Cancellations
Session cancellations due to weather are made with the safety of our animals, clients, and team in mind. We follow RealFeel conditions and Washington Administrative Codes (WACs) when evaluating weather impacts. Please note that the farm’s conditions in Albion may differ significantly from nearby towns like Pullman or Moscow.
Sessions may be canceled, adjusted, or moved indoors when any of the following are present at the time of your session:
RealFeel below 32°F (Fall/Winter) or above 100°F (Spring/Summer)
50% or higher chance of severe weather (thunderstorms, windstorms, warnings/watches)
Heavy precipitation within 24 hours (e.g., more than 1” of rain, or snow/ice accumulation)
Steady winds over 18 mph or gusts over 22 mph, or a NOAA wind advisory
Air quality index (AQI) of 100 or above as shown by AirVisual
Clothing Guidelines by Temperature:
60°F+ – Short sleeves okay. No spaghetti straps or open-toed shoes.
50–59°F – Long sleeves or a light jacket recommended.
40–50°F – Coat or warm jacket required.
32–40°F – Winter jacket and gloves required.
When conditions are not ideal for riding, sessions may be adjusted to groundwork, horsemanship, or indoor education at the instructor’s discretion. These modified sessions are considered full sessions and are not eligible for makeup credit.
If we must cancel a session due to weather or other circumstances, we will offer a makeup lesson option. However, failure to attend the offered makeup opportunity is not the responsibility of the farm and will not result in a refund or additional rescheduling.
Instructors will communicate cancellations via the contact number you’ve provided.
⏰ Tardiness & Attendance
Please arrive 5–10 minutes before your session and check in with your instructor.
Sessions will end at their scheduled time, even if you arrive late.
Clients who arrive more than 20 minutes late without notice may not receive services that day, at the instructor’s discretion.
